Acrylic Painting: Bold and Raw Expressions

Description

Acrylic paint dries quickly and suits bold, expressive work, and these PDF lessons teach how to use it. They start with essential materials and setup, then cover color theory and mixing and brushwork for expressive strokes.

The next lessons teach palette knife techniques, impasto, washes and glazing, composition, and working from references. Later lessons look at mark-making, developing your own style, varnishing, building a series, and troubleshooting common problems. Exercises throughout the PDFs give you a painting task for almost every lesson. By the end, you should be able to work with thick and thin paint, plan a composition, and finish and protect a painting, ready to continue on your own.

Who it is for: beginners who want to paint with acrylics in a loose, expressive style.
