Description

Design for social impact starts with listening to the people affected. This course lays out the foundations of social impact design and then covers methods for assessing community needs, including ethnographic research and listening skills.

Later lessons look at co-creation, inclusive and accessible design, sustainable design principles, and measuring social value. You also learn about prototyping solutions, building partnerships and dealing with ethical challenges. The closing lessons address scaling projects, funding, storytelling for social change, and a portfolio. The fourteen PDF lessons include many exercises, tables and checklists for planning a real community project.
